I have spent a lot of time researching DSi flash cards. It seams that the best two are the Cyclo DS Evolution and the Acekard 2i. Which one is DSi/DS compatible, updated, and easy to use / easy interface. Short boot time, skinnable, and media compatiblity would also be a good plus. Can anyone recommend a card and a reliable/credible site to it buy from? CycloDS only works with DS and DSl. Cyclo DS has real time save, in game menu, and slow motion which the Acekard does not

So I’ve been researching carts quite a bit. Out of the 3 carts in the topic the Cyclo DSi Evolution is the only one that requires a bootstrapper dongle.I was just wondering why the other carts are able to function without the Bootstrapper and what are the advantages of the Cyclo DSi Evolution over the other carts?

I’ve already ordered an AceKard 2i, but if anyone can provide info. that might sway my decision towards a DSi Evolution I will probably get one, but from what I could tell all the carts seem to do the same thing other than the DSi Evolution has the bootstrapper dongle.what is different between Cyclo DSi Evolution and AceKard 2i?

I would appreciate any info. or personal opinions/comparisons on the 3 top carts compatible with 3DS.(yes I know they all can only run in DS mode on the 3DS)

The AK2i needs to be updated with a device without the newest updates (or DS/DSL) if the DSi/3DS is updated to block flashcarts.The iEvolution can be updated without a DSL/DSi/3DS with the bootstrap dongle. The update can also be done without the updater dongle, since it just powers up the cart. The reason it needs to be updated before use is that it can be shipped to all countries and doesn’t contain illegal code (ie. the bootloader).
Well I ordered the 3DS version of AceKard 2i so it’s preinstalled with the update. I’m guessing future updates can be done without a DS now. If not then I might have to get an iEvo after all.
Hmm I wasn’t thinking about things right to begin with…….dang it. I should have got iEvo first I guess………yeah I guess I would need a device to flash the Flash Cart in the future……..crap…..oh well. Maybe Acecard will come out with a dongle thingy also or something.
TC has the distinction of still being the only flash card OEM that can get DSi mode on DSi. I think that claim is still valid. I believe soon you will see that DSi mode on 3DS and even better…3DS mode on 3DS. Aside from that…you can compare for yourself the look and feel of the menus and perks of those menus as far as icons, saves (including RTS), bookmarks. The other thing is the timely manner in which patches are included into updated firmware releases. There are pros and cons with everything. The choice of a flash card…in the end…is a personal one.
